Letter: A bow to Bacon
Re: "Edmund Bacon 1910-2005: Visionary planner behind city's renaissance," Oct. 15:
My favorite story about Ed Bacon is about how he championed skateboarders in their right to use LOVE Park. As another "old guy," I had to learn from my sons that skateboarding has been a wonderful and admirable pastime for our youths.
Also, no mention has been made of Mr. Bacon's strong support of Philadelphia's many great libraries over the decades.
He is sorely missed.
