The Ed Bacon Foundation is a Philadelphia-based, non-profit organization, founded in 2004. The Foundation carries out its mission through educational and commemorative programming. It maintains a Board of Directors with officers to plan and develop the Foundation's activities.
The Ed Bacon Foundation is a tax-exempt, charitable organization dedicated to preserving and strengthening the vision and legacy of Philadelphia's renowned city planner, Edmund N. Bacon. The Foundation supports organizations and individuals that embody the spirit of Bacon's life, work, and dedication to Philadelphia, with the goal of advancing Philadelphia's quality of life and international stature. The Foundation also seeks to commemorate Bacon's legacy and to promote increased exposure to his work.
The Foundation sponsors competitions, forums, and exhibitions focusing on urban planning and development issues. These programs foster a greater degree of awareness of urban issues, and promote planning and design excellence.
The Foundation is committed to preserving the legacy of Edmund N. Bacon, and the relevance of his work. The Foundation undertakes initiatives to document and record the career, life, and impact of Philadelphia's renowned city planner, and to expose new audiences to his contributions.
